Dr. Sarah Whitley grew up in the Sacramento region in a family with dogs, cats, and horses. She dreamed to be a veterinarian from a very early age and always desired to stay locally to be near her family.

She graduated from the University of California Davis, with honors, receiving a B.S. in Animal Science with equine specialization in 2000. She graduated from the University of California Davis with a D.V.M in 2006 as part of the Phi Zeta Honor Society.
She is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society as well as the California Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Whitley has a passion for emergency and critical care and feels that the Pet Emergency Center is where she is meant to be. She loves practicing with a staff and other doctors that share her passion for high quality emergency care.
Dr. Whitley keeps busy with her own animals, many of which are rescues (currently 3 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 rat) as well as her human “animals” including her husband and 4 wonderful children.
